BLOG POST 5 - TOPIC: Changes to my study programme

Imagen
As a psychology student of the University of Chile I have come across various issues with the programme and how psychology as a career works theoretically and practically.  In the first place, I have to study different topics in my 5 years of career, starting with a 2 year program of mandatory classes, including topics such as philosophy, development psychology, social psychology, statistics and others. For instance, this may sound pretty interesting, but in the long run it starts to get annoying, because a lot of times my peers and I want more flexibility in terms of what we must study and what we want to study. For example I would have loved to study more about psychoanalysis and more ideological studies early on in the career, and these types of topics are studied after junior year, but in my honest opinion this is unnecessary and could be changed so the career feels more fresh.  Also, improvements to faculty facilities are crucial for an optimal learning environment. BLOG POST 4 - TOPIC: TIME TRAVEL TO THE PAST OR FUTURE - BRISTOL IN THE 90'S

Imagen
If I could travel to the past or the future, I would love to go back to Bristol in the 1990s. This city in the southwest of the UK was the birthplace of the trip hop genre, with iconic bands such as Massive Attack and Portishead hailing from the city. I would love to experience the vibrant and eclectic music scene of Bristol in the 90s, with its blend of hip hop, electronica, and experimental sounds. I can only imagine how exciting it would have been to witness the emergence of this genre and see the pioneering artists that helped to shape it. However, as much as I would love to visit Bristol in the past, I wouldn't want to stay there permanently. While the 90s were an exciting time for music, there were also many challenges and societal issues that I wouldn't want to go back to. Furthermore, I believe that we are currently living in a time of unprecedented innovation and progress, with new technologies and advancements being made all the time. While it's tempting to look b...

My dream job is to be an industrial and organizational psychologist. I envision myself working with companies to improve their overall productivity and employee well-being by designing and implementing workplace programs that promote healthy and positive work environments. To excel in this field, I will need a strong set of skills that includes expertise in data analysis, research methodology, communication, and critical thinking. I will also need to be able to work effectively with people from all levels of an organization, from entry-level employees to top executives. When it comes to salary, according to  computrabajo.com , the median monthly wage for I/O psychologists in April 2023 was $984.627. Currently, I'm studying psychology, which is a major that will give me a strong foundation in the knowledge that underpins I/O Psychology. It will also help me develop the critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to excel in this field. In addition to my studies, I plan ...

If I had to choose a country to travel to,  Taiwan  🇹🇼 would definitely be at the top of my list. This beautiful island nation in East Asia has always fascinated me with its rich culture, architecture, and delicious cuisine. Taiwan is a small country, but it's packed with interesting things to see and do. From night markets to national parks, there's something for everyone here. I've always been interested in Taiwan's culture and modern buildings, so I'd love to explore some of the country's many temples and museums. Also, Taiwan is famous for its culinary delights, and I'm eager to sample them all. While I wouldn't necessarily want to live or work in Taiwan long-term, I could definitely see myself studying there. Taiwan has some fantastic universities, and I think it would be a great place to immerse myself in the language and culture. Overall, I can't wait to visit Taiwan and experience everything this amazing country has to offer.
